The Manaslu Expedition gives trekkers an exciting opportunity to climb the eighth highest mountain peak in the world—Manaslu. Manaslu stands proud at 8163m and towers over its surrounding mountains. Located in a restricted trekking region, the Makalu Expedition makes for an unforgettable and challenging journey. Trekkers need to be physically as well as mentally prepared for the high-altitude journey. The trek is fifty-days long and takes trekkers through lush forests and ancient Tibetan settlements as well.
The expedition starts in Kathmandu, where trekkers will be prepped for the journey, and the required permits will be issued. Trekkers will also get to sightseeing around Kathmandu. The journey continues with a drive to Soti Khola from where the trail takes us to Sama Gaon. The path offers breathtaking views of Manaslu North (7774m) and Manaslu itself. The trail also passes through alpine scenery and Pung Gyan Gompa.
Sama Gaon is a village located at an altitude of 3500m. The locals know it as Ro. After dedicating a day for rest, trekkers will make their way to Manaslu Base Camp (4750m), which is a 4-5-hour trek from Sama Gaon. There are four camps from the base camp until you reach the summit. The camps are at varying altitudes at 5700m, 6400m, 6800m, and 7400m. They give trekkers an up-close view of neighboring peaks and glaciers. After the four camps, trekkers do their adventurous climb towards the summit.
While the Manaslu Expedition is a beautiful experience all year round, autumn (September and October) is the best season for this activity. It gives trekkers high visibility and good weather. Along with the TIMS card, the trek also requires a special restricted area permit for Manaslu (Manaslu RAP), MCAP and ACAP permits, and a Government official.
Because this is a challenging and technical trek, it is not recommended for beginners. It is recommended only for experienced mountaineers. Here at Blossom Expeditions, we value your comfort and safety. This is why we have experts to answer any queries that you may have so that you can have a hassle-free experience.
