Nagarkot 1 Day Tour is a popular tourist activity near Kathmandu Valley. The Nagarkot Day Tour includes a day trip to the fabulous hill station of Nagarkot, located east of Kathmandu Valley at an altitude of 1930 meters above sea level. Nagarkot is a renowned tourist destination in the region, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas, including Mount Everest, rolling hills, deep valleys, lush green forests, and picturesque villages. Witness a magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas on a scenic Nagarkot Day Trip. Nagarkot is a well-known day trip option in Kathmandu.
Early Morning Departure for Nagarkot Day Tour: We depart for Nagarkot early in the morning, usually between 4 and 5 am, depending on the season. As the first rays of the sun illuminate the eastern horizon, a beautiful scene unfolds. A moment later, the sun’s rays touch the Himalayas, creating a stunning spectacle. After spending a delightful moment at the Nagarkot View Point, enjoy a hot breakfast with the grand view. We then take a short walk to explore the Nagarkot area before driving to Changunarayan Temple.
The Changunarayan Temple sits on a ridge overlooking the valley, about 12 kilometers east of Kathmandu City center. Dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu – the Preserver – the temple is one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture, beautifully decorated with exquisite wood and stone carvings. Believed to be the oldest pagoda-style temple in Nepal, the Changunarayan Temple was built sometime around 323 AD. The sacred complex is a World Heritage Site and offers panoramic views of the surroundings.
After the Changunarayan Temple Tour, we drive to the ancient city of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon, which literally translates to “City of Devotees.” This major tourist attraction covers an area of 4 square miles and retains its charming red brick houses and traditional way of life. The extraordinary Bhaktapur Durbar Square, with its celebrated Golden Gate and the embellished Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, reflects the glory days of the Malla Dynasty. The city dates back to the medieval period when art and architecture thrived in the three cities of the Kathmandu Valley. Situated 14 kilometers east of Kathmandu, this ancient city is also famous for pottery and woodcarving, as amply displayed on the squares and adorning the windows, respectively.
