Little History of Nar Phu Valley

The villagers of Nar and Phu were the main source of labor, yak meat, and butter for Manang. In the 1960s, Tibetan warriors known as Khampas arrived in Nar Phu Valley. They established dominance in the area until their expulsion from Nepal in 1964. Nar-Phu Valley was opened to foreigners in 2002 and requires a special permit for trekking and climbing.
